I would like to now where I can find the full information about how to setup the EU data residency. (payed account)

So far this is what I have found:
https://developers.amplitude.com/docs/javascript#eu-data-residency
For EU data residency, project need to be set up inside Amplitude EU and SDK initialized with api key from Amplitude EU first.

https://help.amplitude.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058073772#view-and-edit-your-project-information
Settings > Projects > [NAME of the  project]
API Key: This is the project’s API key, used for calling Amplitude’s APIs. Only Admins and Managers can view the API Key.

But I think I am missing something 🤔

Hey @Fer

I think this is something that you need to work with the Amplitude Team for migration on their backend if you are on a paid plan.

See jmagg’s response to this post

Hope this helps.

Hey Fer,

Thank you so much for writing in, happy to assist with this!

You can continue using Amplitude’s US servers since our privacy team has reviewed our architecture, data flows, vendor capabilities, and agreements to ensure that our platform is GDPR compliant. We are covered under the DPA for the transfer of data from the EU to the US server.
Please see the following article for more information: https://amplitude.com/amplitude-security-and-privacy (GDPR section of this article is very handy in this case)

However, if you decided to host your Organization on our EU servers - the way to do it would be to create a brand new Organization and start hosting your data on the EU Data Center from the very beginning.
You can sign up for an Amplitude account hosted on the EU Data Center Here

If you want to transfer any old data to it - we recommend exporting your old data from the desired projects via Export API and then completing a self backfill in your new EU account.

Hope this helps!

Kind Regards,
Zhenia
