returning unique users out of new users

Dear Community
Im trying to get 2 numbers :
1 - the unique number of users who started (new users) in some period
2 - from that group of users I’d like to get the total distinct number of the ones who returned to the app (but not on the same day e.g. starting from day 1 and so on)

I tried several ways to get that but couldn't get the unique (distinct) number of returning users

Appreciate your help !

Hey @ilanyrozen

One way would be to use the retention chart and create a cohort of the users who returned to the app on Day 1 or later. e.g in this chart , Day 1’s blue segment will give you the users who were new during the selected time period and then came back on Day 1 or later.

I would also suggest reading the behavior offset article. This will enable you to define these conditions over two separate time intervals using the rolling/offset clauses and help you get chart such users in an event seg chart.

Let me know if I have interpreted your use case correctly. Hope this helps.

Thank you Saish

I think this answers my questions

I will read further your recommendations
